This lovely little right-handed horn, for wind band use, is the

French equivalent of our British tenor cor.

Dating from the mid-1920s, it seems to have, astonishingly,

retained most of its lacquer, which has subtly darkened to a

mellow golden-brown in appearance.

Its main tuning slide has a water key, and incorporates a detachable

'H-piece', which when removed puts the instrument into E flat. It plays

fluently, with a sweet, focussed sound.

It comes with a British tenor cor mouthpiece with which it plays well,

but would need an adaptor in order to use a standard horn mouthpiece.
