Maker: YAMAHA Model 667 customised by

Felix Cantesanu

Type:  F/Bb full double

Bell throat profile: M (medium)

Alloy: unlacquered yellow brass

Bell flare: detachable

Water key: Getzen/Amado, on the leadpipe

Weight: 2.49 kg

Visual/cosmetic condition: very good, apart from one

small 'ding' on the bell flare and a few tiny surface blemishes near

the 'napkin ring' large end of the 1st branch. These are purely

cosmetic issues that have no effect on the horn’s very fine playing

qualities.

Valve compression: excellent

Case: Marcus Bonna

Further details: this wonderful horn is a really great player,

flexible and ultra-responsive over the entire range. It feels

'alive' in the hands and on the lips, with an intense, focussed

'sound palette'. The hand-made Cantesanu

leadpipe and the unstressed braces and ferrules contribute to

the horn's free-blowing qualities; quite remarkable is that this

nominally 'Medium' instrument has a dynamic range that is

much wider than that of an 'off the shelf' YHR-667.

A totally superb player with an even response

over the entire range.
