Visual condition: very good. There is one very
tiny, shallow, narrow depression, but this is a purely
cosmetic issue with no apparent effect on the way the bell
sounds and feels.
Weight: moderately light, 437 gm
Further details: owners / players of a current Finke horn will find
that this superb bell flare focusses and 'condenses' the sound, by
a remarkable degree. It is a well-known acoustical phenomenon
that the 'carrying power' or 'projection' of a musical sound is
enhanced not by sheer decibels, but by its compactness and
focus. Hence, a horn timbre that is perceived at close quarters to be
rather narrow will 'travel' with greater ease than a wider, rounder,
sound, and with less effort by the horn player!
