Now that Paxman has moved away from titanium

valves, a horn like this is increasingly rare.

Our current example dates from the the early 2000s and has

been well looked after.

With its detachable medium bell, it has a nice focused

sound, and has that characteristic ease of blowing that has

made Paxmans so popular; furthermore its titanium

valves make it light!

Visually / cosmetically, there are no significant blemishes,

although there are scuffs that a well-loved instrument will pick

up over twenty years.

There is a little lacquer loss where there has been abrasion, but

this lovely horn remains a great looking instrument.

It weighs a little over 2.4 kg, comes with a Paxman fixed bell

case, has an adjustable finger hook, and has been fully serviced

by its owner, horn maker Tom Fisher, Derbyshire, UK.

A new Paxman horn of this quality costs nearly double

the asking price for this instrument.

NB: the horn is currently with the above owner, whose

contact details can be provided on request.
