7 and 8; the F/A+ extension in photos 3 and 4 is an
optional extra, not included in the price.
Further details: A very good example of this
model, an excellent player over the whole range.
Although its lacquer is 'visually challenged',
worn and 'browned' in several places, many
players will regard this as relatively unimportant
compared to its very fine playing qualities.
The extra facility of stopping on the F alto side
without the need for transposition makes this a
particularly useful horn for contemporary music, as
well as, of course, its other superb feature:
an easeful high register in baroque/classical
repertoire, e.g. Bach Cantatas and
Haydn 'alto' symphonies.
Optionally available for £440 is a 'long F'
detachable extension incorporating a rotary
change valve for A+. This can be seen in
photos 3 and 4.
The photos can be viewed in greater detail
by opening and saving them.
