Maker: ALEXANDER

Model: 97

Type: Bb / A / F extension: the F extension is brought into

use via a 5th rotor, operated by a 2nd thumb lever.

Bell throat profile: medium

Alloy: gold brass

Bell flare: detachable; the threads are rather fragile;

the flare should probably be left in place on the horn.

Valve compression: good

Visual / cosmetic condition: good, with some inevitable

signs that it is a used horn.

Case: Alexander 'mock-croc', much-used, with

several characterful 'stickers'. This original case 'goes

with' the horn, but is recommended for storage purposes

rather than day-to-day use.

Further details: A lovely, sensitive example of this

versatile model, made in the 1980s, with a ringing,

resonant sound that remains pure and focussed at all

dynamic levels.
