£1,100.00

Maker: YAMAHA, Japan

Model: YHR-663

Type: F/Bb full double

Serial number 000485

Bell throat profile: medium

Alloy: yellow brass, its formerly worn lacquer

professionally stripped and the brass surfaces

polished to a gleaming finish.

Bell flare: detachable.

Valve compression: very good.

Water key, conventional type, on the leadpipe.

Silver-plated Holton Farkas MDC mouthpiece.

Overall condition: generally very good. Just above the

thumb lever there is a small oval patch on the inner curve

of the bell tail. This is 'cautionary' rather than 'remedial',

simply strengthening the brass in an area where the

thumb rests or moves, depending on the size of the

player's hand.

Case: Yamaha 'suitcase' in good condition.

Weight: 2.52 kg

Further details: this horn is being sold on behalf of Gerry

Birch Music Services; it has very recently been fully

overhauled and serviced in the GBMS workshop.

With 'all the notes in all the right places' and an

notably clear, ringing sound, brighter than that of

e.g. the Yamaha 667 (which superseded the 663),

this excellent, inexpensive  horn is ideal for a young,

improving player who is upgrading from a single or a

mini’ horn.
