WELTKLANG compensating double

'WELTKLANG' is a traditional retail name, at least 60 years old, used by 'Meister Hans Hoyer' for his factory-made horns; so, in effect, a Weltklang is a Hoyer horn.

This F/Bb compensating horn's build-quality is good, as is its valve compression.

Cosmetically, there are several small, acoustically non-invasive dings and surface blemishes.

In terms of its playing qualities, this attractive, fairly lightweight horn (2.15 kg) has a medium-light ringing tone quality, a velvety low register that speaks very clearly for a compensator, and an impressively even response over the whole range.

The horn's 4th valve is currently set in F/Bb.

The 3 valve levers are fitted with a set of flexible finger-pad extensions to cater for a small hand and /or short fingers.

If these detachable pads are not required, the price can be reduced to £520.

The horn comes with a silver plated mouthpiece in good condition, ultrasonically cleaned and disinfected. The hard case is functional but rather worn.

Generally, a very good, inexpensive compensator that will take a young player up to Grade 8.
