Bell flare:  fixed

Case: used hard case in good condition externally, with all 3 clasps working; internally, there is a small tear in the lining.

An excellent 'Ritter' gig bag is available for an extra £70.

Further details:  An ergonomically advantageous feature is that the horn is set in Bb; this means that the thumb valve needs to be depressed only for the limited number of notes (about 10) for which the F horn is necessary. A detachable left-hand strap is provided.

Generally, this is a good, inexpensive beginner instrument;

or a logical upgrade from a ‘mini' / ‘kinder horn’; or an

improver’ horn for the more advanced young player up

to about Grades 6-7.

Technically it is a full-size horn with a rather compact shape. The F horn’s ‘back-pressure’ is slightly tighter than that of e.g. a Paxman 'Studenti', but its Bb side is free-blowing, with a well-centred tone.

NB: the horn is currently housed with its owner in Oxfordshire. Contact information can be provided on request.
