This elegant, refined and mellow-sounding

vintage Alexander compensator with detachable

bell flare is perhaps a pre-WW2 instrument,

lovingly preserved.

Attractively lightweight, probably due to hollow

rotors, it weighs only 2.1 kg, is made of gold

brass, and feels comfortably compact in the playing

position, enhanced by an adjustable duck's foot.

As can be seen in the photos, it has had a

full life, but still plays beautifully.

Although a professional-quality horn, it is also

listed in the Intermediate category because

of its modest price.
