Further details: this is Paxman’s superb ‘Ultra-Descant’ horn, the favourite model of its inventor/designer, the late, great Dick Merewether.  During the time that I was in the English Chamber Orchestra, I used to (rashly) play Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos 1 and 2 in the same concert (!) using the Paxman 60M.

This example is a ‘one owner from new’ horn, very well maintained, although it currently has a few very minor cosmetic dings. It has ‘low mileage’, because its owner, the former Principal Horn of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra 1984-2011, played it only occasionally, rather than as an ‘everyday horn’.
